Community members looking mainly for a fun competition can enter into the recreational event, while serious racers (you know who you are) can enter into the competitive event.
Included in the race fee is an athletic-style t-shirt, and a hearty meal following the race.
Graduates willl have an opportunity to teach for us this summer.
Sakonnet River Race 2018 The 11th annual Sakonnet River Race will be held on June 2nd on the ocean waters of Rhode Island's Sakonnet River.This 13 mile open-water race is primarily for surfskis, but other kayaks and outrigger canoes are welcome.Set your time on the 1 mile course to see how you rank against the world by gender, board/craft type and age group.The 1 Mile Challenge also serves as great training to get your body and mind the feeling of race like conditions to post a time and better your previous time.This event is funded in part by the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau.
Shark Shallows 2 This race will start at the Flagler Avenue Beach Approach.Paddlers will have a beach start, enter the surf and paddle North towards the Inlet crossing the infamous Shark Shallows.From there you will head West into the Intracoastal Waterway picking up the incoming tide and paddle down the river finishing in the lagoon behind Paddleboard NSB. Battle on the Blueway 2018 The Battle on the Blueway will be held June 9th, on the Calusa Blueway in Fort Myers Beach, FL.There is a registration fee to cover food and facility costs.There will be no awards or prizes, but points will be awarded in both the Surfski and New England Surfski points series.Take the WPA 2 Mile Challenge and see where you stack up against the rest.
