A typical day begins at 6 am with breakfast, followed by scripture, journaling and chapel service at 7 am.
As residents progress through the program, they gradually gain more privacy and eventually can live in semi-private rooms.Outside the dorms, residents can enjoy the green space of the campus as well as the weight room, basketball court and volleyball court.They must work while living on-campus and continue living a Christian lifestyle.Central Florida Teen Challenge Men’s Center could be ideal for someone seeking a highly spiritual life guidance program rather than a strict addiction treatment program.Staff at the Central Florida Teen Challenge Men’s Center includes Christian counselors and administrative staff, all of whom are graduates of the program.
There are about 18 staff members, including interns, while the staff-to-resident ratio can be anywhere from one-to-two to one-to-four.
Treatment at the Central Florida Teen Challenge Men’s Center revolves around daily chapel devotions, pastoral counseling, addiction recovery education, life skills and on-site vocational training including kitchen management and food preparation, facility maintenance and repairs, janitorial, grounds maintenance, administrative assistance, light manufacturing and electrical skills training.
Residents are also taught how to create resumes and search for jobs.
They also frequently hold fundraising events like car washes, which give residents a break from their daily schedule to help raise money for the program.
Once residents finish the program, they can live in on-campus apartments for continued Christian support.
Teen Challenge is best known for its Christian faith-based addiction treatment, which is less about addiction itself and more about finding oneself in Jesus Christ.
